Grand American University
Designed from first principles for serious online scholarship.
Grand American University LLC is a new, deliberately small institution being built in Utah to offer rigorous, research-informed degree study in business and management, education, and public administration and governance — entirely online, in small cohorts, under published academic rules and with complete transparency about what the University is and is not.

Institutional purpose
Why the University is being built
Grand American University is being designed for online study from the outset. Its calendar, credit framework, assessment rules, student-support standards and governance have been developed as one academic architecture before any programme is opened.
The University's mission is to provide rigorous, research-informed degree education in business and management, education, and public administration and governance to working adults by distance, taught by qualified faculty in small cohorts, with honest public information about what the University is and is not.
It will remain small by design. Teaching cohorts are limited to twenty-five. Nine degree programmes in three subject families make up the whole of the planned curriculum, and each has been designed in full — outcomes, courses, assessments, calendars and workload — before the University asks anyone to enrol.

Academic philosophy
Scholarship in applied fields
The three subject families share a conviction: that management, education and public administration are fields in which evidence, judgement and ethics must be studied together.
Each programme is built around explicit learning outcomes, courses that develop and assess those outcomes in sequence, and work that uses public or provided information rather than access to an employer.

- Bachelor's
Bachelor's programmes rest on a general-education foundation;
- Master's
master's programmes culminate in supervised research;
- Doctorate
the doctorates are research degrees examined by internal and external examiners.
Assessment is designed to be transparent
Academic integrity, including the permitted use of artificial-intelligence tools in each assessment, is stated course by course rather than left to inference.
- 01
published criteria,
- 02
moderation,
- 03
written feedback within a stated period,
- 04
and a published route of appeal.

Academic model
Online by design
The University's academic framework is designed around a sixteen-week semester, a credit defined as forty-five hours of expected student work, and a weekly rhythm of a live session, faculty-moderated discussion, reading and an assessed activity. Live sessions are designed to be recorded and captioned so that study fits around work in different time zones. The assessment framework requires identity verification for live and timed assessment. Support — academic, technical and welfare — is designed with published response standards. Research ethics, data protection and accessibility are built into the rules under which every course will run.
The full model is described on the About page.

Consumer transparency
What the University tells you before it asks anything of you
The University publishes its legal identity, its registration status, its accreditation status, its licensure position and its outcomes record on one page, in the same controlled words used across the University's regulatory and student-information documents.
Today that page records that the University is not yet registered, is not accredited, prepares no one for a licence, and has enrolled no student. When those facts change, the page will change — and only then.

Grand American University
Grand American University is being built slowly and in the open. Its rules were written before its first course, its status is stated before its first student, and nothing on this site asks you to do more than read.
